Alesis Hi-hat pedal

Hi.
Now that I've built a box I am noticing some strange behaviour with this pedal. It starts out fine but after a few presses the megadrum ceases to send out a chick signal. The lcd on the front of the megadrum still correctly shows the pedal going up and down, but the led stops lighting up and no more pedal midi messages are sent. Anyone know what this might be about?

Also my hi-hat cymbal input seems to dead. If i want to use an Aux input as the hi-hat input i use the HHinput channel in the hi-hat pedal settings? Is the even number i specify here selecting the top row of inputs of the megadrum, and if so is aux2 channel 12?

Wrong settings.

HiHatB is input 2, so going from here Aux2H is input 20

1. Make sure that the input you use for the pedal matches the AltIn setting.
2. Set LowLevel and HiLevel to 300.
3. Set AutoLevels to Yes
4. Press the pedal a few times.
5. Look up what values you got in LowLevel and HiLevel and post it here.

I'm just about to start getting my hihat set up and I figured you're probably going to tell me to do this process you mention above but I have a question...where do I look to see what the values are in LowLevel and HighLevel?
