position sensing requirements

Hello everyone!

I am new to the edrumming world and would like an edrum kit that allows playing rimshots on my snare and toms as well as full position sensing on all drums (and hopefully hihat and ride).

I have read that the Megadrum module has position sensing capabilities, but what are the requirements of position sensing on an edrum? Would any dual trigger drum (head/rim) or cymbal do the trick or are there any special requirements?
