MIDI or USB?

Hi All!

I want to make my 1st MegaDrum and asking "Is it needed to add MIDI out?"

What way of connection (MIDI to "MIDI in" of sound card OR USB?) will have lover latency? I don't have sound card with MIDI, but can buy it, have i real reason to do it?

Can someone tell me some values of latencies for USB/MIDI? I want to use my MegaDrum on the stage with PC.

Both standard MIDI In/Out and USB are optional but one of them must be present.
Latency over standard (pure hardware) MIDI will be lower than over USB but hardly noticeable - less than 1ms difference.

I have one else reason to think about it - power unit (source). MIDI connection need it, USB don't need. I just don't want make additional and useless (for me) parts of hardware. If i will use USB connection a don't need Power Unit and MIDI out, do I?

Difference of 1 ms is not a problem, i thought it can be 5-10.

Still waiting for other practice information.

You need to provide regulated +5 if you don't connect to USB
