EEPROM size is determined by the chip you use, not the FW. It is set aside memory within the chip.

Apart from the number of orders I'm dealing with at the moment, I'm busy with making MegaDrumManager, viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1454, ready for use as soon as possible.

I couldn't think of a better / more reliable way to differ between tip and shank play other than the pure force that the trigger is being hit with. If you can think of a better way go ahead

Making pad with more zones? MD doesn't lack in number of channels...
However "velocity controlled output" may be a nice feature in general (4ex:chromatic percussion, efx, etc.)
If you need it now, try "Edrum monitor" between USB midi of MD and your host.
