Test it over standard MIDI ports and then come back with the results.

Make sure there is no Midi Input device selected.

So, received my midi cable and din5 sockets today. It's an usb to midi cable, because I haven't a 15 D-sub socket to connect a "normal" midi cable.

I soldered up "Midi IN", mentioned in "lcd midi controls-sch.pdf" and connected it to the board. Then I connected "Midi OUT" from the Midi Cable to Megadrum and then I followed the usual procedure, except that I chose the midi cable instead of megadrum in MIDIOX options menu.

The LED is still not flashing. So, is it possible, that the Atmega is broken up??

Thanks

I very much doubt it. If it gets to the point that it shows 'ERASED' on the LCD then it is able, at least for 4 bytes, receive data correctly. Most likely you made a mistake somewhere configuring MIDI-OX, e.g. instead of setting Output Buffers Size to 60000 you set Output Buffers Num to 60000 or you set Size to 600 or 6000 instead of 60000.

Dmitri,

I don't know what to say. After many failed tests over USB and now also over the midi cable, I gave it a last chance. I connected Megadrum to usb, flashed the "erase" firmware and now SUCCESSFULLY flashed the latest firmware. I have really no idea why it failed so often and now without problems. I did not change anything in the options.

Thank you for your help
