Just hold a piezo or a jack to the ground and one of the inputs. That's how I tested my v2.8 inputs boards. Ground yourself first.

Thanks Rubis, why do I need to ground myself anyways when testing the inputs, I was under the impression that I only need to be grounded (which I never did do by the way) when handling the ic's in general?
Thanks

You are probably OK, but whenever I directly touch anything electronic, I ground myself. I have forgotten twice now and had to reinstall the firmware.I wasn't even touching the ICs. I have it in a box finally, so it shouldn't happen anymore.
Not sure what would happen on the noise, but I would guess it would be like the people who get crosstalk on triggers that aren't even plugged in or who lose usb midi connection when the fridge turns on.
