The 4051's are listed in the analogue board - components list.pdf. If you are unable to find the 4851 then you'll have to stick to 4051 + 64x BAT85's and the rest of the 100R resistors.

Ok this will sound amazingly stupid but i cannot find the 4051 on the digital board schematics.

Neither can I, obviously because they are found on the analogue board schematics. ;-)

Dmitri's design of MegaDrum has two boards (three, if you count the controls board which, by the way, you have to make yourself):

- Analogue board. This one grabs the signals from piezos/switches, multiplexes them via analogue MUXes (4051 or 4851) and then the signals are sent over to the...
- Digital board. This is where the signals are received and 'converted' to MIDI by the ATMega MCU; the MIDI data then flows through the MIDI cables (or USB via the PIC MCU) to a PC or a MIDI device.

:D oh...... Hey thanks heaps Firelord i think i have a clear thought on what to buy now. But Ill make a quick revised list and post it up before i get it.
I noticed that some essential components aren't even listed such as the IC Sockets, the Din5 connectors, and some of the IDC socket connectors.
I understand that Dimitri is really busy so he cant keep absolutely everything upto date. And what is the Keyboard - Sil-4 on the digital components list (there is a little more detailed list on the KiCad Version)?
Ill just buy everything thats listed there and once i start making it and realise that a part is missing ill order it in. I just really wanna start making it, so excited :D

The MD controls board is pretty darn simple and you might not even need to make it, correct wiring with diodes and switches will suffice.

I can understand your temptation on finally getting started. Because I experienced a somewhat similar feeling when I began assembling MD. This project got me started with microcontrollers and I am very grateful to Dmitri for that :)

Hey thanks Firelord for all the help.

Most of the parts have arrived :) and i went out yesterday and bought a Dremel, it came with a 180 attachments which is awesome.
I bought all the stuff i couldn't find from Farnell, it was crazy i ordered everything at 11 PM and everything arrived at 8 in the morning...
Ill start a build log soon so everyone can see what im doing.... Just haven't had time to etch the Board.
stupid question in the input socket schematics it shows the HH Pedal Input Select switch.. what is that, there are 2 HH inputs so im confused is one for open and the other closed or something?
In the gallery i couldn't find that switch in some peoples megadrum other then dmitris megadrum.
ok One more confusion lol, in the input socket schematics the inputs show 5 pins yet the inputs i bought have 6....

Thanks

That's the high impedance switch. Some HH pedals might need that.

You need to make sure which of those pins on your input jacks are tip, ring and sleeve. Those are the only pins used in MegaDrum design.

I just checked the IC provided by Synthex and they bear the same Part No: SN74HC4851N

Now I found a way to buy these babies (shipping to Greece is too expensive and I can't seem to find them any place else in Europe).

You should check with synthex. He might sell them to you for a reasonable price.
