Megadrum Live

Hi,

I just purchased a built Megadrum off ebay. I'm not really sure what I've got myself into?

I've been using a Alesis PadControl USB to a MacBook running 'Battery' for live shows. It has proven well but I need more inputs, not just kick and SD. I was going to get 2x Alesis trigger i/o's

I'm praying the 'Megadrum' will be reliable "on the job". I'm going to be triggering a 6 piece acoustic kit with d drum triggers ( 2 x dual zone SD triggers) and 4 yamaha dual zone pads as well as a couple of trigger pedals.

Is anyone else here using there Megadrum live?

I already have a suggestion. When editing pads on the PadControl I simply hit the pad and the software changed to that pads settings. On your system you say that the HH pedal needs to be pressed for that to happen. Well I will not be using a HH pedal. Any suggestions?

Anyway, here I am. I have not received the unit yet but I will let you know how it goes. I may even send you some pics. I'm planing on beginning to use it live from July onwards.

Cheers
Glenn

How do you suggest to implement it?

Bahahahaha!

I will not be implementing anything.

I'm a user not a builder. Maybe I'm on the wrong forum? I know nothing about electronics (except when I made a Radioshack headphone amp when I was a kid). I'll be using it live with a Bee Gee show that work 1 or 2 nights a week. No heavy touring with it until I see it can handle the road and even then I would have to get a backup.

So don't ask me how many ohms my ddrum triggers output, I would not know?

I'm just wondering if there are other 'users' out there?

I'll rephrase it if it was not clear.

How do you suggest it should be implemented?

Perhaps you should have read the info on the website/forums beforehand?

OK.

Maybe a software implementation.

Or I was wondering if plugging something into the socket or have an 'ON' hihat switch?

Who knows?

I'd still like to here feedback of peoples experience 'on the road' with Megadrum

Hang on there guys....don't all reply at once!

So nobody is using it live or on the road?

You are absolutely right Firelord. I should have checked out with you guys before purchasing. The thing is the guy advertised it as "not for novices". I thought he was talking about 'musicians' not 'electricians'.

Now he will not mutually withdraw from the purchase. The dude is going to make me buy it! lol.

There go's $500 bucks. [sigh]

Who knows? Maybe it will work??????????
