Is any one using any off the above pedals? If so how are they performing? Any issues?
Hi Hat controllers seem to be the biggest problem with EDrums so any recommendations greatly appreciated. I've read some posts but none really seem conclusive in terms of performance with the megadrum. The VH's seem to work well but they are the most expensive.
Thinking of changing my FD-6.

I'd love to see replies to this subject as well. I'm brand new to the forum and very seriously considering going with a MegaDrum and Superior 2.0 because I'm just not quite satisfied with my TD-10. The hhat issue is a big one to me...that's the one thing that I've never been satisfied with.

I don't have any of them. VH11/12 have been reported to work fine.
Any reason to expect them not to work?

well, my knowledge base is quite limited, so I may not understand some things very well.
I guess the concern, at least on my end, is that Yamaha modules can only properly be used with Yamaha pedals...and Roland pedals can only use Roland pedals, like the FD-7. And then there's a limit with the pedal controllers as opposed to the higher end hi-hat controllers like the RHH135/VH-11/-12.
I guess I'm just wondering, since yamaha's controllers apparently are different from roland's, is that an issue with the Megadrum as well? Or is it pretty much just a matter of setting the Megadrum and synth (Superior 2 or whatever) "play this sound when the hi-hat controller registers this setting"? Can that be set no matter what controller type is used, whether it's Yamaha's RHH135, Roland's VH-11 or -12, or even just the pedal controllers like the Roland FD-7 or Pintech's Hyperhat?
I'm sure a lot of my own confusion here is due to a limited knowledge (or really almost no knowledge) of how MIDI commands and messages work.

MegaDrum is very flexible in configuring HiHat pedals. As far I can see, any types of HiHat pedals/controllers will work with MegaDrum after right settings are found. And "will work" means will work as a proper variable HiHat controller.
Again, I have none of the controllers named in the subject, so my words are based on the feedback from other MegaDrum users and on the theory of operation of such controllers.

So, out of curiosity, what do you use for a hi-hat?
And I know that some of my questions will probably get either answered or more detailed once I actually get a MegaDrum and get everything hooked up. One thing that I am curious about is the idea of using a typical pad and a pedal controller like the Hyperhat. On my current set up, with a Roland TD-10 exp, using a Hyperhat controller pedal, I can't get multiple levels of open or closed. I can get fully open or fully closed. I'm wondering if you (or anyone else) knows if that's a limit of the roland module, or if that's a limit of the pedal...just wondering if using the Megadrum with a pedal controller if I can get the multiple levels of open/close.

Now that I think about it, it also makes me wonder: if I use the Megadrum, can I also use a standard 2-zone cymbal pad for my hi-hat with a pedal controller, can I get the different bow/edge sounds along with the various levels of openness (assuming that software like Superior/BFD/Addictive have all of those various sounds available)?

I certainly don't expect you to have all of the answers. This is more of me just brainstorming and trying to understand everything I can about it.

I use a DIY optical HiHat controller.
I've also tested MegaDrum with different variable potentiometers mocking various HiHat controllers.

I would expect that they will all work, i was more wondering about configuration and performance. My FD6 works but has very limited movement between closed and open. I know this is due to the pedal, i guess a lot of MD users use DIY pedals.

I own a Jobeky and a Roland VH11 hihat controller and both work fine... The VH11 controller and the Jobeky are very similar in construction.

Roland VH12 is very similar to the VH11 but has an extra "tight" function that MD doesn't simulate. This is when you press down hard on the pedal, there is a further articulation to simulate the hats being squeezed together. SD 2.0 has these articulations.

To my knowledge the RHH 135 wont work with anything but Yamaha modules. It has a magnetic sensor which tells the module the position of the hats.

If I knew what signal is read from the pedal with the "tight" function and what MIDI signal is expected from a module I don't see why I would not be able to add this functionality.
