Megadrum USB driver. Name's conflict

Postby sanik_s » Fri Feb 25, 2011 10:07 pm

Hi Dmitry,
I have Megadrum and also have CME U-key midi keyboard.
When I connect Megadrum alone to PC, it's midi ports have names "USB Audio Device".
But when I connect my keyboard to PC it's midi ports have also names "USB Audio Device" and "USB Audio Device (2)". It have two ports.
When I connect both Megadrum and midi keyboard to PC there is a big chaos with device name: "USB Audio Device", "USB Audio Device (2)", "USB Audio Device (3)" and with simultaneous power up device order is selected randomly.
Unfortunately the editors also don't know which device was at "USB Audio Device" last run and make chaos with track input source.

Is it possible to make changes in PIC firmware to rename midi ports as "Megadrum MIDI In", "Megadrum MIDI Out" or something other that USB Audio Device?
Or make some driver for it to use unique names?

Device name in PIC is actually MegaDrum but for whatever reason some MS OS versions (Win XP?) choose to ignore this and use a generic name. I guess the same is true for the CME U-key midi keyboard.
