Positional sensing on multiple ports

Hi Dmitri,

I know that I can switch the port on which positional sensing will be applied - but is there any chance that future firmware versions will support more than one port simultaneously (e.g. snare AND toms), or will that drain to much performance from the atmega?

PS: This is because i'm planning for new DIY toms and would help me decide if to choose an expensive center-trigger based solution, which would be prepared for positional sensing, or a cheaper side-trigger one which won't be able to do positional sensing with megadrum.

EDIT: Oh, now at home reading the settings manual again and playing with the settings it seems that the "PositionalIn" setting is not mutually exclusive like I thought first - so I guess, if want to have more than one tom with positional sensing, i just have to plug in the additional toms into the "Crash" and "Ride" inputs, right? Or are these inputs designed specifically for crash and ride cymbals so that they wouldn't work right with toms?

Positional sensing can be used with four inputs simultaneously - SnareH (input 4), RideH (6), CrushH (8) or Tom1H(10)

Yes, thanks, i think I got the manual wrong, I thought the input selection being mutual exclusive.

But I have another question regarding positional sensing: I'm about to build a precision rectifier, as soon as the parts I ordered will arrive. My snare pad is very hot, so I cooled it with a variable resistor, which is working fine for now. I would like to integrate the variable resistor with the rectifier board. So, far from being an expert in electronics, my question is: Where to place the resistor - before or after the rectifier?

Chances are you won't need a voltage divider with a precision rectifier.
