Hey!!

I'm posting this topic, because this matter was slightlly discussed in this topic

http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=441

Elrules said in that topic that:

I think all you say can be done yet. You can change megadrum drummaps if you press up or down keys. Just make a connector in the box that goes to the up/down connectors and connect there two switch pedals. With that pedals then you can on the fly change megadrum drummaps to play some interesting live performances

So what you're saying is that to be able to do that, we can had two jack inputs (one for up and one for down) and connect a foot switch to each one of them, right?

If that is so, do we connect the jacks directlly to the PCB Board where the Up and Down buttons connect? And in doing so, how do we connect the female jack to the board?

The way I understand it is this pedal is simply an external extension of the buttons. wired in parallel to the buttons on the MD with a jack(s)/cable(s) going out to the pedal enclosure.

Hmmm i seeeee.....

But what type of foot switch could be used to trigger the up motion or the down one? A guitar foot switch would be ok?

Any momentary normally-off push button will work.

For guitar footpedals, unless its a killswitch which only mutes when your foot is on the button, It's unlikely to work.

If I were you I would simply get a project box, two momentary normally-off switch (the 'tougher' the better) and two TRS Jacks.

Place the two buttons on the project box far enough that you can hit one without hitting the other with your foot, put a TRS jack into the side and wire one terminal of each button to the sleave, and the other terminal of the button to either the tip or the ring. Put a TRS Jack into your MD and wire the sleave to the ground on the keypad connector, and then the tip/ring to the up/down/left/right or whatever buttons you choose.
