:D Talrushed- I think you are right. Dmitri made a note when I did the configuration work on my PinTech Dingbat that the retrigger was set too high.
I really like comments and feedback on this quite difficult part of the MegaDRUM!!! I have been viewing your video and the drums sounds great (which drum software have you been using?) and I got really impressed by the sensivity you have got out of your set!

Nice work!

For all others - Zourman will soon strike back with the fourth complete configuration kit of MD/AD!! Stay tuned! Target is to kill the new Roland TD-30 module...

if you want, i can help you. i think i have collected many experiences in building and setting up triggers for megadrum.

as first i think that if i set the latency setting from standard 40 to 50 sounds and feels more real. and with this even some falsetrigger dissapear so you dont have to set falsetriggersuppression too hi. i set on my pads the minscan time to 50. the first halfwave of my pads isnt so slow, it is around 30 but it feels simply more real and some falsetrigger are suppressed with this. try it to set even higher, maybe this feels more real, in case your triggers are a bit slower than mine.
on my hihat i set the minscan time to 40. it simply sounds better. the halfwave of my hihat is lower than this but with minscan time to 40
it feels more real.

retrigger should be allways set to 1. i dont know why, but it feels unnatural if i set it more than 1. dynlevel you have to try for yourself. i tried even 15 without loosing to much sensivity and acuracy. the dyntime setting is very important for the sensivity of your pads. think you should not set it higher than 16. even with 16 it feels not natural, i think. 12 is ok.

This is what we needed!
Thanks, talrusher!
Seems like Retrigger is what kept me from having the best possible triggering. I had it at 8, but just when I changed it - I got all the nuances.
Frankly, never thought of changing it before. I always played with highlevel, threshold and dynlevel, but never tried retrigger.

What would you suggest for Rim? I`m getting false triggering (when hitting head, just with strong hits, but not always) under some configs. It`s now the case as well.

Did you adjust DualMidPoint?

They are at 0, both DualMidPoint and DualMidWidth. I guess that`s not the right way to do it.
Maybe I should raise the rim highlevel ...

Once you configured HighLevel for both the head and the rim you must adjust at least DualMidPoint as advised in http://www.megadrum.info/content/pads-settings

Hi!

I got a chance yesterday...(after sending home my bandmembers) to play around with Talrushed findings. I would say that the snare became perfect.
I have problems with the Hihat to get the right feeling. All RIMs on the toms/snare needs to be fixed. I am guessing the midpoint etc needs to be set according to Dmitris input.

You can see my config at https://www.dropbox.com/s/oubhsbupqlzzy9t/MegaDRUMV4_4.mds and lissen to the result at: http://soundcloud.com/powerhell/test

Does the following relate to the PADS?
Dynlevel to about 15 without loosing to much sensivity and acuracy.

yeah... there is the dynamic ;)

very nice ...

...today i experiment with the old false trigger suppression method (AltFalseTrSupp) and after the first few tests, i think it is much better and gives a more real feeling and response. ill write later my experience.

Talrusher,

If i ask you kindly...would you like to post your mds file?

I was tempted to see your hihat settings (like retriggering) etc!!

Best Regards

Anders.
