After I have finally ditched Windows I have a working setup in Linux (Ubuntu Studio). I posted a short tutorial on how to get the MegaDRUM talking with Ardour and connected to DrumGizmo (or whatever your choice of sequencer).
It's also useful as a guide for any MIDI setup using JACK.

Hi, nice tutorial. I briefly tried DrumGizmo about a year ago but it kept crashing and I didn't really have the chance to look into it properly - so I might give it another go now. Though I think I also recall it was quite heavy on ram and cpu. How well does it play with the hi hat pedal? I'd prefer to just use open-source stuff, but with vsthost (dssi-vst) I have Addictive Drums up and running in my Linux setup with a single click and it's rock stable, very light on resources and runs happily with a latency of 2.67 ms in jack (onboard sound card)... I used to use Hydrogen, but once I tried AD there was no going back...

Seems OK on CPU and disk streaming is working fine (from GIT). Hats are working fine with DIY pedal. Worth another shot or for people who can't afford AD or the likes.
