I haven't thought this one through, but I have 3 single zone diy cymbals which are basically just a peizo mounted on a pintech plastic practice cymbal.
Is there a way for me to utilize the rim/choke on one of my PD-6's to provide choke to those 3 cymbals? I'm using SD2

1. Only if your soft synth (SD) can choke several cymbals using aftertouch from only one cymbal.
2. If you don't need second zone on your DIY cymbals you can add a simple switch to each of them for just choke functionality.

A membrane switch is only really needed if you want to implement the second (edge) zone fully. For just choke functionality you can use any momentarily switch, really any, even two metal pieces wich you need to press together to make a contact will do.
