Everything of the hardware works (Synthex v2.7 build), yippee! Megadrum is recognized by Windows XP as usb audio device. I now want to use SaviHost + MyDrumsetRocks to do a qiuck test (maybe later on I will use other soft, this one is just for testing purposes) but I can't select a midi input. I guess I'm missing something here. :?
Can someone help me out please ?

Are you on WinXP SP2 or SP3 ?
Do you use another USB device with 18F2550 ?

Please try this :
In "Propriétés de Périphériques audio USB" :
"Pilote", clic "Mettre à jour le pilote..."
"Installer à partir d'une liste ..."
"Ne pas rechercher. ..."
Select "Périphérique audio USB" and "suivant"
"Terminer"

"Drivers", click "Update driver..."
"Install from list ..."
"Don't search. ..."
Select "USB audio device" and "next"
"Quit"

I'll try this at home this evening (night) Synthex, but being a pc technician I doubt that this sollution will change anything (but one never knows ...). The device is recognized correctly allready. I'll post back with the results.

Can you give a schematic on what's next step?

e.g. : recognition of Megadrum-->installation of particular software-->Cubase (or something else)--> ...
Midi is totally new for me and others, so the route to follow would give us some light in the darkness. We can keep reading the forum over and over again, but it's a little time consuming and not allways as clear for us as we hope it will be. (different builds, software that goes together or not, ...)
Not that I'm lazy in searching, I read the forum a couple of times now and it still is confusing concerning the software part. (hardware is my dada ...)

Synthex, I did what you suggested, but everything stays the same. See attached pictures. Guess I have to try with other programs and see if it doesn't have to do something with SaviHost. Any suggestions for a quick test ?

Yes I did, actualy one laptop and two other pc's. The laptop and one pc with Windows XP SP3 With SaviHost and Hydrogen, USB audio is recognized, but it is not selectable in both programs. Another pc with the Musix linux live dvd, also without succes. Now I'm installing XP on that pc without any crap and have a try again.

I think I foud the problem ... If I connect the usb cable at the front of the pc, I think I actually connect through a usb hub and it won't work. If I connect via a port at the back of the pc it works. A bit stupid of me, could have found it earlier. So, now back to th testing of Megadrum itself and assembling home made pads and cymbals.

Problems persist... After booting up the pc yesterday, same problems as in the beginning. Only on Linux it works properly. I uninstalled the drivers, removed the leftovers from the registry, to no avail... I prefer to have it working under Windows though ... Any suggestions ? I will take another pc and laptop home from my work this weekend and have a try on those machines again. :(

Still asking myself if someone has the usb connection working with any soft in Windows... This is not a blame to the makers of the usb thingy, and I suppose this will be working some day. I can't at the moment, but if someone does, please let me know so I don't spill my time on this anymore untill there is a sollution. (in the mean time I use Linux)

This sounds like a hardware issue. You should post your USB connectivity problem to the hardware forum here viewforum.php?f=3

It sounds like a problem a variety of new users have reported. I have the same issue, though when I program my PIC the programmer specifically reports failure. Another user reports they failed with WinPIC but supposedly succeeded with WinPIC800 though the board is still not recognized properly.

As to what the problem is, I have no idea. But collectively we should be able to provide enough data to Dmitri (note he's on holiday until this weekend so don't expect support until then) to identify and hopefully correct the problem.
