Where does MCT store the downloaded Firmware?
Does it delete it automatically if you respond NO to the install new firmware dialog?

It doesn't store the downloaded firmware, it just keeps it in RAM memory. What MCT saves is a default-config.syx, that is the current MCT configuration.

but i have to send erase.syx first...which means selecting no and losing the new fw from ram.
Couldnt we have an option to save the fw if you dont want to update at that moment?

You can download it from here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=58Don't worry, I will upload soon a version with some modifications in the firmware updating, to see if updating with the secure bootloader is possible.
