My laptop died

Well, almost. After a few months of display backlight problems it got very hot in the bottom right corner and started to burn pixels at alarming pace. So to avoid possible burns/fire/explosion I had to switch it off. I did all the development on it, so there won't be any firmware updates/development for awile until I get a new laptop (which I haven't got yet) and transfer everything to it.

Good news. I now have a replacement laptop and I only need to transfer all my data and install all required software.

Sounds like you have a heat problem.
Take the whole laptop apart. This can be a little hard so take you time. There are hidden screws everywhere!
Clean the inside of the laptop, get all the dust out. And re-apply some thermalgrease on the cpu.
This will make your laptop run all cool again.
I did the same thing with a laptop I got for free.
It got so hot that it burned a little hole in the cpu heatspreader! :p
