SUGGESTION: Change web/forum links to open in new window

Just a suggestion regarding links:

* Have website (not forum) links to external pages open in a new window
* Have all forum links open in a new window

When following lengthy threads that often have lots of links I often find myself closing the page when I'm doing reading one of the various links/branches only to realize I also just closed my ability to return to my original topic or search results. I try my best to remember to right-click open-in-new-tab/windows but don't always remember.

Leave the forum links alone. I do not want to have 30 different windows open at once. Gastric, get a good browser that has tabs, like Opera or Firefox, and just middle click. This works for most of the website links also.

I'm not a big fan of the javascript links on things like the MCT page though. They don't play nice with tabs.

I myself don't like when web pages decide for me to open a link in a new window so I use Firefox and open all the links as I wish.

What browser do you use? Sounds like you are still on IE 6 or some other tab-less browser.

I would recommend Firefox, you can download and use it for free.
Firefox uses tabs. Every link you open can be opened in a new tab. So you don't have to mess with a ton of windows in the task bar.

Agree with that.

Just use Firefox (free), right click on the link and choose Open in new tab.

Or simply click the wheel of the mouse, quicker than right clicking and selecting an option

.....or double left click on the tab bar. That just opens a new fresh tab though.
