I can't necessarily argue either point.

Though my soldering was much improved by the time the V2.8 kit came thanks to purchasing a brand new, though only $10, soldering iron. I really should've simply purchased a pro level iron 12 months ago when I first started into edrums. It's all about the tools, ya know? Well, and how to use them, too.

I did a little bit of measuring today. The total height of the Trigger IO board and stacked TRS jacks is 1 3/8" or 34.925mm. That doesn't account for PCB standoffs/mounts. But this means you should easily be able to fit a double row of input jacks into a 1U chassis. In contrast I could not use the Synthex jacks boards in a 1U chassis due to it being a little too tall between the jacks and IDE headers.

As a baby step maybe the Synthex jacks board could be leveraged towards stacked jacks. Assuming the stacked jacks are inexpensive and readily available. It would simplify that overall by condensing the two current jacks boards down to a single board.

It is 1.25" (31.75mm) from top of the frame to the bottom. It is .669" (17mm) in width.

Apparently it does not come with the nut or washers.

Little more pricey than the single switched jacks @ $0.85 each which includes the nuts/washers.

Price wise, that's not to far off what they go for as singles. I like the idea, although I've already ordered my singles DOH!! Mine are on back order, so maybe I could get them to change to these and I could come up with a board for them....... If I get time today I will see what I can do.

Here's some hires pics of the jacks in case they're helpful.

You have push button power f or AC ON/ AC OFF&USB ON, AC power in, MIDI Out, USB, then HH Pedal, Kit INC/DEC, then the 10 TRS inputs. Unsure why they spaced the kick/snare/HH/ride from the rest of the jacks, though there's a Kensington lock hole in the chassis in that space. Guess that's where they decided to stick the lock hole.
