Dmitri,
Just trying to put things straight in my head about the min scantime setting.
I understand that it is the amount of time that MD "pauses" when it detects a signal greater than threshold level on that input before sending the "sample" onto the next stage.
I dont understand what you mean when you say that increasing min scan time will reduce level accuracy. What is your definition of "level accuracy"?
I have been using min scantime as part of the reducing retriggering process.
For example, retriggering very close to the intial strike can be controlled by a combination of retrigger and dynamic time/levels. However some retriggers occur quite late and increasing the retrigger and dynamic levels settings to "dampen" them makes acheiving fast rolls very difficult.
However I have found that reducing minscan time eliminates late retriggers but still enables fast rolls. I normally set minscan time to 0 and attempt a buzz roll....then I keep increasing min scantime until I can acheive a perfect roll. I have found this to be much lower than the default 20, in fact my DIY snare minscan time is set at 8.
Is there any problem in setting minscan so low?....
