analog synth = drum pad control

I am thinking about purchasing a midi controlled analog synth box. I want to control the synth through my pads. Does anybody have any suggestions for any synthesizers for this?

Hi,
controlling synth via midi pads is nothing new. you need real analog synth, or maybe virtual analog? if you're thinking obout the second one, I'm really recomending Nord Micro Modular as it has many, many features.
The only thing is, that the synth need to have midi input, that's all.

Do you know anything about the Dave Instruments Mopho synth? It is very affordable and has midi capability. How does this one stack up against your recommendations?

Mopho synth is a very good instrument, it will be enough for your needs. Micro Modular is other philosophy - it is virtual analog modular synth. It has much more features, but it is not analog.
