Okay, so it's 3 different algorithms and we just experiment to determine which seems to work best. I've read the explanation over and over many times, even before I had a MegaDrum to start with. Honestly, I'm sure it makes perfect sense to you, but the explanation still has me scratching my head over and over...it's just written in a way that confuses me.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1215? This link is given in MegaDrum firmware change log for version the 20100516 when Positional sensing was introduced.
Yep, I've read that thread a few times as well. I'll have to check what firmware it says it has when I get home and can fire it up. Jman had said that he loaded whatever was the most recent firmware prior to when the protected bootloader was introduced. And to be completely honest, since Jman did the loading of the firmware, I actually don't even know
how to load firmware on this (since it doesn't have the protected bootloader chip thingy).
I'll also have to check on the wiring that I have on my piezos. Off the top of my head I think I have the opposite of the Beatnik...I don't know/understand what "negative first half wave" means, but I guess if my piezos are wired in the opposite way then that could have something to do with it. I have absolutely no desire to have to build a precision recitifier.
In your demonstration video of the positional sensing there are 3 sets of two-digit numbers that are constantly changing with each strike. Is it explained somewhere what those numbers mean? If so, I missed it.
And finally, I do believe that I probably need to add a trimpot to my snare head input...I meant to do that but got distracted and didn't get around to it.
I think what I'll probably do is add the trimpot and then take a quick little video of what I have going on and then maybe someone can give me some direction. Honestly, I do the best I can to read through this stuff and really try to comprehend it...but unfortunately some of the info just doesn't seem to be sinking in for me and as a result I have to ask a lot of questions that are probably very elementary to some people.
