loading samples with EZDrummer, BFD, Addictive Drums

EZDrummer, BFD, Addictive Drums
I read around the bulletin boards and it seems like they are pretty similar...

Which of these most easily allows you to load your own samples?
I read that you cannot load your own samples in EZDrummer. Can you in Superior Drummer or BFD, Addictive Drums?

Thanks!

rommm,

None of the listed allows you to load your own samples, sorry. Only add-on-packs can be used.

Try this freeware drum sampler that looks quite promising. The plugin includes EQ and an FX section with reverb, delay and flanger.

I found this and never used it as that I am contempt will the add on packs for Superior Drummer. I don’t have the proper eq to record the sounds that I would have wanted.

If you use it and like it, then let us know :)

p.s.
I have Superior Drummer from ToonTrack and love it for live trigger play. I did not want to spend the money for BFD2, and Addictive Drums did less than I desired. I have not used EZDrummer but I do have 2 of it's add on packs (Twisted Kit EZX & Electronic EZX), they work on Superior Drummer . I also have some the Superior Drummer add-on-packs "New York Studios Vol.2 SDX" & "The Metal Foundry SDX".

If you got to play with my setup, then you would likely want to go the route I did and not bother with other samples from CD (or even doing samples by yourself). All three products you are asking about are awesome. I also got an E-MU 0404 just for its Hardware-accelerated effects that use no CPU overhead.

Thanks bean. That freeware software looks cool but generally I use a mac. I could try it on my vmware but ideally I'd like something on the mac. I noticed that megadrum shows up as a midi device and triggers in ableton live so I'll try to mess around with that and see if I can get it working.
Has anyone else used the megadrum just as a sample trigger in Ableton live or Reason or the built in Logic drum module? Is that possible?

I played with the DFD2 Demo today and it seemed pretty cool...drooling over the taiko drum expansion pack.
I just finally finished putting together synthex's kit today so it was super exciting to actually get sounds out of it. Hopefully I'll be done with my trigger box by the end of the week.
I wish toontracks had a demo version.

Check out Hydrogen: http://www.hydrogen-music.org/?p=download

It supports up to 16 velocity layers, which you can load yourself, or there are a number of drumkits that you can download for free.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.
