I was very conservative with firmware upgrades in the past and I normally did it when a full reprogramming was required anyway, so I don't know how the compatibility of the stored settings (configs and mds files) is handled when installing a new version. Is it normal that I couldn't recall configs ("Failed" message on LCD) and mds files didn't load in MDM?

p.s.
I tried the 20120303 version and it works great, it's very nice to see that no MIDI gets out of MD accidentally any more.

Configs saved in EEPROM with previous firmware version in general are not guaranteed to be compatible with new firmware versions.
